Turtles All The Way Down (VR)
A downloadable game for Windows and Android
Myths tell of a giant turtle, so big, that the whole world rest upon its back. What did it stand on? An even bigger turtle, which stood on an even larger one. It was turtles all the way down!
In this VR game, stack turtles upon one another, as the gigantic "world turtle" beneath them all walks along rugged terrain. Don't let any turtles fall off beneath the world turtle!
Requires an Oculus Quest / Quest 2 or a desktop VR system (SteamVR, Oculus desktop, and Windows Mixed Reality).
Made for Ludum Dare 49 in <72 hours. The theme was "Unstable". The world turtle presents itself as an unstable surface to build on.
Controls:
Action | Control | |
Move | Squeeze side grip button while dragging the world
Place Turtle | Press front trigger. (Turtle needs to be over something it can grab onto.)
Zoom In/Out | Squeeze both side grips and move hands together/apart
Restart | Hold primary button on left controller for 3 seconds. For Oculus, this is the X button. |
Tip 1: The turtle will grab onto the turtle underneath it. The grip will be stronger if the turtles are of different colors.
Tip 2: Turtles will blink red if their grip is slipping, and turn red if they are not gripping anything.
