A downloadable game for Windows and Android

Harvest asteroids, build your space station, breed space bunnies, and grow carrots to feed them in this cute zero-gravity physics-based virtual-reality game for desktop VR (OpenXR) and Meta Quest 2/3/Pro.

[I didn't get to make the tutorial, so read please below for instructions!]

How to Play:

Objective: Keep your space station stocked with uranium, metal, and carrots to meet the needs of the bunnies and build the bunny space station of your dreams. Defend the station from rogue asteroids and space pig raiders.

Controls:
The controls are completely ambidextrous and the same for both hands.

ActionControl
Move yourself
Hold the side grip, pull yourself in any direction in 3D. Push the thumbstick left/right to snap turn 45 degrees to the left/right.
Select bunnies
Hold A or X button and touch bunnies to select them. Select empty space to clear. Double click the A or X button to select all units not inside modules.
Move bunnies
Click on a destination with the trigger.
Grapple/release asteroid
Click on asteroid with the trigger to make bunnies go there and grapple it. Move the bunnies while they're grappling to slowly pull the asteroid. The more bunnies, the faster and more control you have when pulling.
Double click to release grapples.
Enter/Exit Modules
Click on a habitation module, garden module, or breeding module with the trigger to make bunnies enter (if it has capacity). It will automatically deselect those who entered. To exit, select those bunnies inside the station and click outside the module.
Slo-mo / Inspection Mode
Rotate the controller so that the hourglass on its side faces up to enter slow motion mode (10% speed), where you can inspect rabbits, modules, and asteroids by touching them with the pointer to bring up their info panels and special actions.

Tips:

  • Harvesting Asteroids: Use your bunnies' grapples to smash asteroids together to destroy them and release the resources locked within. Or build an asteroid crusher and drag asteroids inside to chew them up.
  • Breeding: the breeding modules work to slowly produce new bunnies that appear right outside their window, as long as you have enough life support (though habitation modules). Add up to 4 bunnies inside to breed.
  • Gardens Grow carrots. Add up to 6 bunnies inside to work. The grown carrots are placed outside the station, and must be picked up by bunnies.
  • Damage: Asteroids will hurt the station if they collide with it. Whole sections of the station can be wiped out if they are disconnected from the reactor core. Make sure you place plenty of cheap frame modules all over for redundancy. Armor modules help protect things, but they are expensive, and don't transmit resources to other modules. There's no way to repair modules yet.
  • Saving resources: You can turn off unneeded modules through the slow-mo /inspection mode buttons to save maintenance costs. But other modules downstream from that module may be affected if that is their only source of resource transmission from the reactor.

VR Jam 3: Originally made in 9 days for VR Jam 3. Theme: Zero-gravity. This was the first real-time-strategy genre game I've made. And I've combined it with my usual dose of cute, and physics-based fun!

Upcoming features:

  1. Space pig raiders
  2. Bunny nuclear infuser - creates self-destructing nuclear exploding bunnies
  3. More optimizations
  4. Research labs and tech tree
  5. Tutorial and campaign
  6. Special challenge maps

Updates:

  • 0.2.2 (2024-09-21): Added some test space pigs - they are hiding behind an asteroid, waiting in ambush, and are very destructive. Lure them to the crusher. Even better performance. Improved space station damage and destruction. Bunny corpses. Replaced bunny voices with squeaks. Garden and breeding modules now only have maintenance costs if occupied.
  • 0.2.1 (2024-09-04): Now supports Oculus/Meta Quest 2. Optimizations and performance tuning for Quest 2. More vibrant/colorful aesthetics.
  • 0.2.0 (2024-09-02): First post-jam build with a ton of optimizations to get it running better on the Quest 3. Balancing. Much easier to destroy asteroids with collisions. A more versatile asteroid crusher module. Garden and breeding modules now require at least 1 worker. Bunnies now consume carrots and will slowly get hurt if they are lacking food or adequate life support (with habitation modules). Removed formation toggling for now.
  • 0.1.0: (2024-08-04): Original game jam build.

Woah great job! Played for a bit on Quest, could be a fun little game with some extra content!

Thanks!
