FortressOfBones (VR)
A downloadable game for Windows and Android
Build your fortress out of the bones of your enemies to protect your obelisk, the source of your necromantic powers in this dark-humor physics-based VR game.
Requires a desktop VR system that uses OpenXR (either SteamVR or Meta Quest Link), or a Meta Quest 3 (sideload .APK standalone).

Instructions:
Snap bones together to form macabre bone-art creations and barriers. Smash the living adventurers with your bone scepter to slay them and liberate their bones from their flesh. Protect your obelisk at all costs!
Action | Control |
Grab Locomotion | Squeeze side grip and pull yourself in the direction you want to move. |
Snap Turn | Right controller thumb stick left/right |
Grab | Front trigger |
Kill living | Grab the giant skull scepter and smash a living being with it to instantly kill it and strip it of flesh. |
Toggle Zoom | Press thumb stick button in |
Attach Bone | Grab a bone and move it close to another bone. You should see white dots. Move the bone so that one of its white dots is very close to another bone's white dot until you see a line form between them. Release the bone to form the joint. |
Detach Bone | Grab two bones which you want to detach, and pull them apart far enough until they stop trying to go together. |
Downloads: You can either download the Peaceful Sandbox build, or the Choose Violence build where you can smash the living. I didn't get time to add waves/levels in the Choose Violence mode, so it is all just one big and gruesome wave of hundreds of invaders until there are no living left - there's no losing since I didn't get to implement the obelisk damage feature yet. Stay tuned for the waves/levels in a future build.
Made in 7 days for the VR Jam 4 game jam. Theme: Connectivity. I interpreted this to be the connecting of bones to build stuff. I wanted to practice using Unity's ECS/DOTS with VR. This is a sequel to Your Hands Are Ghosts, but it is made in a completely different way that can handle orders of magnitude more bones and enemies.
3rd Party Attributions: Music: Piece for Two Fingers by Kevin MacLeod (public domain). Universal Sound FX Pack by Imphenzia. Font: Tombstone by FactoryType and Nosferotica by Sinister Fonts.
